Mindful Care Adult Day Services asks for your support May 6 | big payback

The Big Payback, which starts Tuesday, May 6 at 6 a.m., is a new 24-hour, online giving event in the 40 counties served by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

The goal is simply to inspire Middle Tennesseans to show pride in their community and contribute to the life-changing work of the local nonprofit organizations that touch their lives.

Mindful Care Adult Day Services of Rutherford County would be a grateful recipient from all generous-minded friends in Rutherford County on that special day of giving.

Mindful Care provides compassionate and loving care to people stricken with Alzheimer’s and other memory-related illnesses—and, in turn, gives the family caregiver a much-needed break during the weekday. There are more than 3,000 people in Rutherford County with Alzheimer’s disease. In 2013, Mindful Care provided approximately 6,000 hours of service to a total of 27 caregiving families. Community volunteers contributed more than 2,100 hours to the program—and the organization’s board of directors gave more than 1200 hours of service.

The Big Payback 24-hour giving window will be from Tuesday, May 6, at 6 a.m. to Wednesday, May 7, at 6 a.m. Donors may go to http://thebigpayback.org/#npo/elders-first-adult-day-services-association-dba-mindful-care-ads or to http://www.Mindful-Care.org to contribute to Mindful Care. (Mindful Care Adult Day Services is a program of Elders First.)
